Privately held and family owned, Chick-fil-A was founded by Truett Cathy, the restaurateur recognized as the inventor of the boneless breast chicken sandwich. We have become the second-largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States – with more than 1,440 restaurants in 38 states and Washington, D.C. Though we have grown immensely over the past 42 years, we still hold true to our original values of family and community: serving wholesome food, using only the best ingredients and remaining closed on Sundays.
