Trending NOW: Wearing a Blazer Multiple Ways

A blazer is a wardrobe essential for all women and nowadays there are a variety of colors and styles that allow you to add some personality and flare to what can often become a stuffy and bland work look.

For this post, let’s talk about how to re-style this classic piece to add some depth to your wardrobe.

If your style is more preppy, your closet is filled with crisp button-downs, colorful cardigans, pencil skirts and pearls.

When investing in a versatile blazer, opt for a navy, tan, white or cream color.

Not only are these colors seasonless, but you can easily add bright and cheery pops of color.

A gingham button-down, boyfriend jeans and loafers is one of my favorite, preppy-approved casual looks.

If your style is on the sporty side, you love athleisure, live in your fashion sneakers and your looks are more androgynous with a tomboy flare.

A blazer is probably not something you think of incorporating into your wardrobe, but it shoulder be!

Take a boyfriend blazer and pair it with a relaxed tee, boyfriend jeans and those slip-on sneakers (or lace-up like Converse or Adidas).

You could also swap the boyfriend jeans for a denim or leather skirt. Instead of a tailored blazer, you may be more comfortable in a relaxed, boyfriend style. This can easily be layered over a casual, day dress.

Bows, lace, texture and fun prints (think: polka dots) are your jam.

Try pairing a tailored blazer with a pleated midi skirt and heels. Make sure the blazer is tailored to keep the look clean and streamlined.

Another way to add a feminine feel to your blazer is by wearing a silk scarf around your neck or layering the blazer over a silk, tie-neck blouse or floral-print dress.

You love clean lines, simple patterns and basic pieces that easily mix and match with others.

To diversify the blazer, create a monochromatic look by pairing your black or navy blazer with a black tee and black denim.

You can also create a simple, yet chic look by wearing the blazer with skinny jeans, a tee and heels.

This is a perfect desk-to-dinner ready look and a go-to for casual Fridays (if your office offers them).
